SwimCamp offers Swimming Lessons for adults at the Belvedere College. These swim classes are designed for those who want to learn how to swim or improve their swimming skills.
The classes are taught by experienced and certified swim instructors who are dedicated to helping each student reach their goals. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced swimmer, we can help you improve your technique and become a better swimmer.
If you are very nervous and have no confidence in the water, we recommend to start with 1:1 sessions before you join a group lesson. Private Swimming Lessons can be requested via hello@swimcamp.ie or by filling out the form.

👉 Learn to Swim (Water Confidence)
Who is it for?
This course will run for 4 weeks and is aimed towards those swimmers who are starting out on their swimming journey.
Swimmers should be comfortable being in the water and have previous experience (no matter how long ago) being in the pool. For all you head up breaststroke swimmers who dip regularly in the sea this course will be perfect for you.
If you have no water experience (have never been in a pool), or are nervous or scared in the water (may have had a previous unsettling event) we would highly recommend that you contact us with regard to the private coaching option. Our aim is to get all our swimmers comfortable and ready for our group sessions.
Any sessions for swimmers of this level will be done in a pool environment. The open water is not an option.
Topics you can expect to be covered in this course:
- Comfortable with face in the water
- Introduction to breathing
- Floating on front and back
- Basic Water movement
- Turning from front onto back and visa versa
- Body position
- Leg Kick
- Basic Arm movement
- Gaining overall comfort in the water to allow the swimmer to try new things.
Swimmers of the same level will be able to swim together during the sessions and encourage each other throughout their journey.
There is no minimum requirement for this group, but if you are particularly nervous about getting in the water, I would recommend 1:1 consultation with one of our experienced coaches before joining a group session.

👉 Begin to Swim - (Beginner)
Who is it for?
This group is for those swimmers who are comfortable moving through the water attempting front crawl.
This group will focus on doing short distances very. We will continue to work on mastering the breathing technique and improving overall breathing efficiency.
Becoming comfortable with breathing is key to starting your swimming journey.
Sessions for swimmers of this level will take place in the pool and open water is not recommended.
Topics you can expect to be covered in this course:
- Breathing Techniques, gaining comfort and ease with breathing
- Improving & strengthening leg kick
- Working on correct arm movement
- Body position
- Introduction to Rotation
- Balance in the water
- Backcrawl / Breaststroke, increasing mobility and comfort in movement through the water
- Improving breathing the the side in front crawl movement
Swimmers of the same level will be able to swim together during the sessions and encourage each other throughout their journey.

👉 Become a Better Swimmer – (Improver)
Who is it for?
Swimmers who are interested in signing up for this course should be comfortable swimming 25m front crawl, with correct breathing movement (turning head to the side). During these swimming lessons, you will gain confidence, improve your stroke, and gain additional aquatic skills. The course will be very technically focused, and will work to create more proficient, effective swimmers. Sessions for swimmers of this level will take place in the pool, and open water is not recommended.
Topics you can expect to be covered in this course:
- Breathing Techniques, challenging your breathing, increasing lung capacity
- Improving & strengthening leg kick
- Introducing power into your stroke
- Body position correction
- Improving Rotation and balance in the water
- Backcrawl / Breaststroke, increasing mobility and comfort in the water
- Gaining knowledge on how to increase fitness and stamina
- Increasing distance swam gradually

Who is it for?
This group will focus on long–term goals and will work on swimming techniques and endurance in group sessions. Swimmers will also be able to work on their fitness and speed in their own time, depending on their ability.

▷ What are your Belvedere College swimming pool hours?
This term we’re running SwimCamp swim lessons on Monday and Thursday evening (see above for times). For more information on their schedule, contact the facility directly.
▷ How long is Belvedere College pool?
It’s a 25-metre, five-lane pool with a spectator area and changing rooms.
▷ Is there parking available at Belvedere College Pool?
Outside parking is FREE after 7 p.m.
