Masters Swimming Dublin

Structured Training for Swimmers Who Want More Than Just Lengths

We get it – you can swim. You’re past the “learning to float” stage. But you’re stuck doing the same sets, the same pace, and wondering why nothing’s changing. That’s where Masters comes in.

Coach Susan and her experienced coaching team run every session with a plan. Not just “do 20 lengths of freestyle” – actual coaching. They’ll break down your stroke, sort out your breathing timing, fix that thing your catch does that’s costing you speed. You’ll get detailed feedback on technique, pacing strategy, and how to read the water in open-water situations. Whether it’s pool racing, triathlon, or a sea swim off Sandycove, you’ll leave every session knowing something you didn’t before.

And then there’s the group. Masters swimmers who’ve been turning up week after week, pushing each other through hard sets, sharing tips on wetsuits and race-day nerves. People actually know each other here. You’ll recognise faces, have a laugh between intervals, maybe grab a coffee after. It’s the kind of training environment where everyone’s chasing their own goals but nobody’s doing it alone.

💁‍♀️ You can join our regular Masters swimming sessions or take it a step further and become a SwimCamp Masters Swimming Club member – which gets you extra savings, more training options, and the full community experience: organised events, open water swims, and a group that’s always up for the next challenge.

This isn’t your only session of the week – it’s the one that makes all the others count.

What a Masters Session Actually Looks Like

  • Coached, Not Just Supervised: Every session has a structured plan – warm-up, technical drills, main set, cool-down. Susan and the team are on deck coaching throughout, not sitting in a chair watching you swim laps.
  • The Cornerstone of Your Week: Masters slots into your broader training programme. It’s the session that sharpens your technique and builds your engine, so everything else you do during the week is more effective.
  • Built for Event Swimmers: Training for a triathlon, Iron Man, open water race, or marathon swim? You’ll get the structure, the know-how, and the confidence to tackle race day properly prepared.

Why Swimmers Keep Coming Back (And Getting Faster)

  • Susan Knows What She’s Doing: Level 3 and Level 2 Open Water qualified, former Leinster Squad Coach, Masters Coach, Youth Club Head Coach in South Dublin, and Open Water Coach specialising in Dublin Bay. She’s coached swimmers across Dublin for years and she brings that experience to every session.
  • Swimmers Who Push Each Other: This isn’t a drop-in group that changes every week. You’re training alongside established swimmers who’ve made Masters part of their routine – many for years. Everyone pushes each other, and it shows in the results.
  • Train With Us, Keep Your Club: Swim with SwimCamp Masters Club (we’re Swim Ireland registered) or keep your current club membership and just train with us. No politics, no pressure – we welcome committed swimmers regardless of where else you train.

What actually happens when you commit to proper Masters training:

  • “The Masters sessions completely changed my approach to training. Susan’s coaching helped me build the endurance I needed for my first Iron Man, and the group keeps me motivated every week.”
    Alex J.
  • “I’ve trained with different groups over the years, but the structured approach here is different. My technique improved dramatically and my times show it.”
    Mia R.
  • “Love the community aspect – you’re surrounded by swimmers who get what you’re trying to achieve and push you to get there.”
    Liam P.
  • “The difference between swimming alone and training here is night and day. Everyone’s pushing each other without even realizing it. I hit personal bests I’d been chasing for months within my first few weeks.”
    Sarah M.
  • “I thought I was training hard on my own. Then I joined Masters and realized I’d been coasting. The group energy is addictive – you find yourself doing sets you never thought possible.”
    David K.
  • “Best decision I made for my swimming. Being surrounded by swimmers who actually care about improvement changes everything. My stroke feels completely different now, and my endurance has doubled.”
    Rachel T.

We are delighted to be able to announce our newest session for those Master swimmers who are looking to do a little more distance and improve their overall endurance.

Who is it for?
This session will be aimed at challenging each of the swimmers both technically and their endurance levels.

It is a structured training session which will push and encourage swimmers to get the most out of their time in the water both during the session and in the other sessions they are participating in during the week. It should be used as part of a weekly training plan, not as the only session being done.

This session is ideal for those who are training for an event e.g. triathlon, Iron Man, open water races, or marathon swims. It will give swimmers the information and structure they will need to incorporate into their own weekly training plan.

It will be taken by our Level 3 Coach Susan, who has vast experience in racing in the open water and marathon swimming events.

☝️ This series runs from month to month.
