What Actually Makes a Difference Here

  • Seawater training builds natural buoyancy awareness – you’ll notice the difference when you go back to a chlorinated pool.
  • You’ll learn open water skills that actually matter: sighting, navigating, adapting when conditions change.
  • Our coaching follows a 3-stage approach – we don’t just throw drills at you and hope something sticks.
  • Every swimmer gets a personal assessment with honest feedback on what’s working and what needs sorting.
  • Swimming outdoors with Dublin Bay in front of you does something for your head that a windowless leisure centre never will.
  • You also get access to our online resource library – technique videos and training plans for between sessions.

👉 Beginner Swimming Lessons at Clontarf Outdoor Pool ☆

Nervous about water? That’s completely fine – you’d be surprised how many people feel the same way on day one.

This course is for people who are new to swimming, haven’t been in a pool for years, or just don’t feel confident in water. We start with the basics – breathing, floating, getting comfortable – and build from there. No rush, no judgment. You’ll be in a group of people who all remember what it’s like to feel a bit out of their depth (literally).

Our coaches are patient because they have to be – rushing beginners doesn’t work. You’ll swim at your pace, rest when you need to, and gradually realise you’re doing stuff you couldn’t do three weeks ago. The outdoor seawater pool at Clontarf is actually a great place to learn – the natural buoyancy helps, and there’s something about swimming outside that makes the whole thing feel less clinical.

👉 Improver Swimming Lessons at Clontarf Outdoor Pool ☆☆

Can swim but feel like you’re working too hard for too little speed? That’s what we’re here to fix.

You can get from one end of the pool to the other, but something’s off. Maybe your breathing’s all over the place. Maybe your legs are sinking. Maybe that weird thing your left arm does is costing you more energy than you realise. The improver sessions are about sorting all of that out.

We’ll work on your stroke mechanics, breathing patterns, and the technique you need for efficient outdoor swimming. You’ll see measurable improvements in how far you can swim, how it feels, and how much energy you’ve got left at the end. This is where most swimmers have their biggest breakthroughs – because small technique changes make a massive difference.

👉 Endurance Swim Training at Clontarf Baths ☆☆☆

For masters swimmers, triathletes, and open water racers who want structured coaching, not just lane time.

💁‍♀️ Ready to level up your swim? Join our exclusive 3-Hour Technique & Endurance Clinic at Clontarf Baths

This is for swimmers who already have solid technique and want to build on it. Masters swimmers training for competition, triathletes working on their swim leg, open water racers preparing for events – you all end up here because you need more than just doing lengths on your own.

Sessions cover structured sets up to 3,000m, pacing work, advanced sighting and navigation for open water, and the kind of technique refinement that shaves seconds off your times. Our coaches know the difference between a triathlete who needs efficient energy conservation and a masters swimmer chasing a qualifying time – and they coach accordingly.

The 40-metre seawater pool at Clontarf is ideal for this – long enough for proper sets, outdoor conditions for acclimatisation, and the kind of training environment that a 25-metre indoor pool just can’t replicate.
