Swimming is a great form of exercise for all ages. We offer lessons for adults of all levels in our Technique & Endurance program. Our Adult Swimming Lessons help you become a better swimmer, increase your endurance, and make you feel more confident.

Our adult coached swimming program allows swimmers to progress at their own pace, mastering one set of skills before moving on to the next. We will always encourage our swimmers to be in the water and practice at least one other time during the week as well as their group session. Consistency is key in enabling our client to progress towards reaching their own personal swimming goals.

How quickly you progress through these levels will depend on a few factors:

  1. How often are you in the water?
  2. Have you had previous experience?
  3. How comfortable and at ease you are in the water?

Please do not compare yourself to any other swimmer, this does not help the process and puts unnecessary pressure on you.

If you find yourself in a group that you think is unsuitable or not what you expected, please speak to your coach and we will do our best to accommodate you and find you the right group. It is our aim to create an enjoyable relaxed atmosphere enabling you to work towards your own personal swimming goals.

If you are very nervous and have no confidence in the water, we recommend to start with 1:1 sessions before you join a group lesson. Private Swimming Lessons can be requested via hello@swimcamp.ie or by filling out the form.

This course is aimed towards those swimmers who are starting out on their swimming journey. Swimmers should be comfortable being in the water and have previous experience (no matter how long ago) being in the pool. For all you head up breaststroke swimmers who dip regularly in the sea this course will be perfect for you

✅ Who is it for?

This course will run for 4 weeks and is aimed towards those swimmers who are starting out on their swimming journey.

Swimmers should be comfortable being in the water and have previous experience (no matter how long ago) being in the pool. For all you head up breaststroke swimmers who dip regularly in the sea this course will be perfect for you.

If you have no water experience (have never been in a pool), or are nervous or scared in the water (may have had a previous unsettling event) we would highly recommend that you contact us with regard to the private coaching option. Our aim is to get all our swimmers comfortable and ready for our group sessions.

Any sessions for swimmers of this level will be done in a pool environment.  The open water is not an option.    

Topics you can expect to be covered in this course: 

  • Comfortable with face in the water
  • Introduction to breathing 
  • Floating on front and back 
  • Basic Water movement
  • Turning from front onto back and visa versa
  • Body position
  • Leg Kick 
  • Basic Arm movement
  • Gaining overall comfort in the water to allow the swimmer to try new things.

Swimmers of the same level will be able to swim together during the sessions and encourage each other throughout their journey.

💁‍♀️ There is no minimum requirement for this group, but if you are particularly nervous about getting in the water, I would recommend 1:1 consultation with one of our experienced coaches before joining a group session.

👉 Begin to Swim - (Beginner)

This group is for those swimmers who are comfortable moving through the water attempting front crawl. This group will focus on doing short distances very. We will continue to work on mastering the breathing technique and improving overall breathing efficiency. Becoming comfortable with breathing is key to starting your swimming journey.

  • Breathing Techniques, gaining comfort and ease with breathing
  • Improving & strengthening leg kick
  • Working on correct arm movement
  • Body position
  • Introduction to Rotation
  • Balance in the water
  • Backcrawl / Breaststroke, increasing mobility and comfort in movement through the water
  • Improving breathing the the side in front crawl movement

Swimmers of the same level will be able to swim together during the sessions and encourage each other throughout their journey.

👉 Become a Better Swimmer (Improver)

Swimmers signing up for this course should be comfortably able to swim 25m front crawl, with correct breathing movement (turning head to the side). During these swimming lessons you will gain confidence, improve your stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.

Swimmers signing up for this course should be comfortably able to swim 25m front crawl, with correct breathing movement (turning head to the side). During these swimming lessons you will gain confidence, improve your stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.

This course will be very technically focused and will work creating more proficient, effective swimmers. We will continue with swimming shorter distances swam technically well, while increasing distances gradually holding onto that good technique.

Sessions for swimmers of this level will take place in the pool and open water is not recommended.

Topics you can expect to be covered in this course:

  • Breathing Techniques, challenging your breathing, increasing lung capacity
  • Improving & strengthening leg kick 
  • Introducing power into your stroke
  • Body position correction
  • Improving Rotation and balance in the water
  • Backcrawl / Breaststroke, increasing mobility and comfort in the water
  • Gaining knowledge on how to increase fitness and stamina
  • Increasing distance swam gradually

👉 Swim for Fitness - The ultimate workout:

For those swimmers who are already, or would like to make swimming part of their weekly fitness regime. Rather than a 6 week course this group will have more long term goals and many will swim with us numerous times during the week. Distances covered (will depend on ability) will be anywhere up to 2,000m in the session. Swimmers will be given the tools and knowledge to train efficiently and effectively on their own, getting the most out of every session they do.

For those swimmers who are already, or would like to make swimming part of their weekly fitness regime.  Rather than a 6 week course this group will have more long term goals and many will swim with us numerous times during the week.  Distances covered (will depend on ability) will be anywhere up to 2,000m in the session.  Swimmers will be given the tools and knowledge to train efficiently and effectively on their own, getting the most out of every session they do.  

This course will include working on technique,endurance, fitness and speed.  The main stroke (as with all effective training programmes) will be front crawl but back crawl and breaststroke will be touched on by your coach.  If you have a specific interest in improving either of these strokes (or butterfly) please speak to your coach.  

Swimmers would be capable of joining any of the sessions we hold in both the pool and open water.

Our website only shows sessions with open spots. The majority of our sessions are already fully booked. You can stay informed by subscribing to our email list. There’s no waiting list.

Our private swimming lessons and  swimming sessions for adults will be held at Castle Park School in Dalkey.

Indeed! Our Master Swimming sessions are ideal for those who are training for an event e.g. triathlon, Iron Man, open water races, marathon swims. These will give swimmers the information and structure they will need to incorporate into their own weekly training plan. If you register your interest, we will contact you to discuss availability.

We accept payments by Credit Card and Debit Card.

All payments run through Stripe, so you don’t have to worry. We accept all major Credit Cards and Debit Cards.

If there is an issue with the payment, please contact us, and we are happy to find a solution with you.

All payments are non-refundable. Unused camp fees may be applied to a future camp within one year of purchase date (credit). In the unlikely event Swim Camp cancels a clinic session, a new date will be provided. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide refunds for no shows.

Don’t worry. We only show events that still have spots. You will receive time and location information in your booking confirmation email. We will also remind you one day before the event. If you have questions regarding your booking, feel free to contact us.
